7 Things which made CAA controversial [PART 3] B.9

 Hello everyone,

Whenever we talk about CAA we think less about the act but more about the protest and violence. I have discussed everything that the Act contains, but don't you think there should be some other reason apart from the act itself? Yes, there are many things which are promoting riots and protests. But before reading this, if you are new to the blog, make sure you read all the previous blogs related to CAA.

UNDERSTANDING CAA [PART 1]

UNDERSTANDING CAA [PART 2]

LET'S GET STARTED, There are many reasons which have resulted in all the protest.

1. Insufficient communication between the government and common people: Every non-Muslim who has migrated to India from these countries can't be treated as a persecuted individual. Some might have immigrated because of better opportunities in India, So how will the government discriminate between a persecuted refugee and an illegal non-Muslim migrant?

2. Irresponsible section of media: When I say irresponsible media I just don't mean the mainstream media but every form of media (print, social media). Fake forwards, rumors, baseless information have been circulated. I will not name anyone but well-established journalist, You tubers presented the Act to their audience in such a way that it created a mess in the mind of a common man. Many online news websites quoted CAA as illegal and undemocratic without even explaining their point.

3. Political Powers promoting violence: In the recent report of SIT of Delhi, it is clearly said that there is a prominent hand of many MLAs, Counselors of the different political parties. They were all behind the curtains playing their parts in converting a protest into violent outrage.

4. Hate speeches: This is one of the most important element in this discussion because there was a continuous series of hate speeches by the politicians, Film actors, Religious Leaders, and Student representatives. Every one of them misused of "THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH & EXPRESSION" and made their respective community come on the road and protest against that bill.

5. Rumors and fake news: There was a popular slogan which was used in the protest"this bill is against Minority of India". Which minority are we talking about? CAA is an amendment made to give citizenship to the persecuted minority of Pakistan, Afganistan and Bangladesh. How is this bill even related to citizens of India? but still, Thousands of people were protesting to save the rights of minorities.

  • The second rumor which was one of the most popular rumor, "CAA IS AGAINST MUSLIMS". Whenever asked that how this act is against Muslims, the answer was "Because Muslims are excluded from the bill and it is against the secular constitution", the Muslim which is excluded is not even Indian so people are protesting for the Muslims who do not belong to your country. We have to understand that "Exclusion is not discrimination". This bill is for the persecuted minority of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. No Muslim in these countries is persecuted on the basis "RELIGION" and Constitution of their country do allow them a chance to fight Case against the Injustice. To be more clear: No mosques are demolished but temples, churches, and gurudwaras are.  Muslims are not forcefully converted into any other religion but every other minority of these countries are. So the difference is in front of you, why Muslims are not included and I repeat "EXCLUSION IS NOT DISCRIMINATION".

6. To some extent Bollywood and their irresponsible comments: Bollywood actors and actresses are not too behind, they have done equal contribution in creating chaos without even acquiring any valid information. Just to keep their audience happy some of them have crossed their line.

7. One very important issue was raised that India is a secular country and no law or act can be brought in India based on Religion. That's right but the persecution of the minority was based on religion, every non-muslin was tortured because of his/her religion, so if the problem is based on religion, the solution should also be given on the basis of religion. There is no point of secularism here.

We are a democratic country and everybody has a right to protest (peaceful one). If you don't like any idea, you can speak against the government and can challenge anything in the supreme court. The trials are going on in the supreme court and if it finds a violation of any law, reasonable action should be taken against the government "this is my personal stand", But what is actually happening is people are still on the road and in the name of protest, public property are being burnt (IS THIS DEMOCRACY). No protest is bigger than "NATIONAL SECURITY" and at the same time Government of India should create awareness on the zonal level about this act. To all the protesters and especially the peaceful ones, have faith in the supreme court, if your protest is relevant then Justice will prevail.

Both government of India and all the protesters should have to admit that there are faults at their levels but still, nothing is more important than national security. In the upcoming blogs, we will discuss the shaheen bagh incident. If you feel that there is something which I have missed feel free to comment.
