THE SUPERMOM OF INDIA [B.36]

"If women understood and exercised their power they could remake the world"

Today's blog talks about such a fierce woman who played a major role in the development of India. Her dedication towards her work has made a remarkable impact which makes her the Indian female leader for the ages. "Sushma Swaraj, the former minister of external affairs of India, was such an amazing human being who started her career at a mere age of 25 years. Those of you who know her might be able to recall her as a passionate person who stormed the parliament with her fiery speeches.

Let us find out more about her charismatic personality and her political career.

She was the first female chief minister of Delhi, the first spokesperson of the national party, first woman leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, first full-time female External Affair Minister. Yes, that is true, she bagged many firsts in her career.

The historic decision was made by her as the Information and broadcasting minister to live telecast the Lok Sabha debates. She also has a significant role in changing the status of the Indian film industry by making film production an "industry" which makes it eligible to finance funds from financial institutions. This proved to be a big step in changing the perspective of India towards movies.

Sushma Swaraj was one of the most active leaders on social media. She broke the barriers of endless waiting for people in need and led to the beginning of a new era. Sushma Ji assured people that whatever may be the problem, she is just one tweet away from her fellow Indians at home and abroad. This shows that there is a reason why she was known as the most compassionate minister.

Sushma Ji played a key role in maintaining good ties with other nations. She was loved and respected not only in India but across the world. She remains the only female MP to be honoured with an outstanding parliamentarian award. There was an incident where she was fighting elections and had to address a rally in Bellary, Karnataka. Sushma Ji was such a quick learner that she learned Kannada in just 2 weeks and addressed the rallies without glancing at a piece of paper.

Sushma Ji was a fearless woman who never hesitated in keeping her stances. She attacked the opponents quite impressively with her oratorical skills but at the same time, she knew how to keep dignity with disagreement. Her unapologetic way of raising her voice and questioning the opposition often made them speechless. She knew how to deal strategically with sensitive cases and brought a distinguished touch of empathy to politics.

Today, when women are breaking the image of a patriarchal society, Sushma Ji is one of the biggest inspirations for women, especially in politics. She worked towards raising the status of women in politics. Sushma ji is the face of women's empowerment for the upcoming generations and made it possible to believe that gender should not be a bar for achieving great things in life.

Sushma Ji is a classic example of how a person should be connected to his roots. While travelling across the world, she always represented India with her graceful Indian woman look in a saree and a bindi which gives us a message that we should be proud of our culture and being progressive does not only mean following the western culture.

Considering the nation as the topmost priority was always her thing, and as Indians, we should feel very fortunate to have a leader who went beyond the boundaries and made efforts for the people of the country and tried to bring reform.
