Plight of Kashmir's Pandits (B.17)

 Hello everyone,

In the previous blogs, I discussed how Kashmiri pandits were forced to leave their houses and live as a refugee in Jammu. The life of a refugee is beyond our imagination, But before I begin if you are new to the blog I recommend you read my previous blogs.

EXODUS OF KASHMIRI PANDITS #PART 1

EXODUS OF KASHMIRI PANDITS # PART 2.

Let's Get Started...

Kashmiri pandits were well educated hence, most of them were financially stable. But when they were forced to leave their houses, they did not get a chance to even collect their money, property papers, mark sheets, etc. In addition, their houses were also captured by the local Muslim population, so they could not even sell their houses. When they reached Jammu, refugee camps were provided to them. Now just imagine, one night before they were enjoying the luxury of their beautiful houses and on the other night they were forced to live in such strenuous conditions.

Initially, pandits believed that the government and police will help them to regain their houses. They thought its a matter of time, they will get their jobs back and live their life as they used to. But, unfortunately, this never happened. None of the governments paid attention to this issue ever. No Indian citizen could file a case against this inhuman act because "Article 35(a)" prohibits an Indian citizen to do so (if you are not aware of article 35(a) click on this link). The media did not cover this issue, and whosoever tried to retaliate against this pathetic radical Islamic ideology was forced to shut his/her mouth. I am sharing a video of a popular and well-established journalist and ex anchor of NDTV Barkha Dutt, that how she portrays this act.

According to her, one of the popular reason was sharp income disparity, because Pandits monopolized the jobs this created discontent among the poor Muslim majority. For instance, let's believe her that Income disparity was the reason for this discontent, Do you think that this was the right way to create equality among themselves? Either kill the pandits, forcefully make them to accept Islam, or to force them to leave their houses and capture it? If it was Income disparity why the slogans like "कश्मीर में रहना होगा तो अल्लाहु अख़बर कहना होगा " or "पाकिस्तान ज़िंदाबाद" were used?  Not only her, many journalists and media houses either portrayed this act falsely or chose not to cover it. This was the reality of our nation. More than 30 years have passed away but none of the governments have given attention to this issue, very few human rights associations fight for this, and every organization is still struggling because there was no media coverage for them. We all posted stories for George Floyd and helped the hashtag #blacklivesmatter to trend on twitter and that was a great thing to do but very few of us were aware of our own Kashmiri pandits. I don't see any Hashtag trending on twitter for Kashmiri pandits, why? Because of our media, previous governments, and our own ignorance and negligence. There was a huge protest against CAA, NRC and everybody out there was fighting for human rights and for our constitution, But where were these people 30 years ago when this dreadful act occurred? If our media would have given at least 10% of the attention which they are giving to Sushant Singh's case, pandits would have got justice. Previously there were no social media platforms or numerous media houses like today, So there's no room for excuses now. We are blessed with 24 hours internet connection, social media, and devices that can do wonders. If we can create awareness for George Floyd, let's do it for our Kashmir pandits also. We have to generate awareness among ourselves and pressurize our current government to give deserving justice to Kashmiri pandits. Rather than being selective on certain issues and binge-watching on Netflix, we can invest our attention on such issues that need to receive light so that they can become national topics and create pressure on our Modi led government. In the end, despite of all the odds and difficulties Kashmiri pandits have regathered themselves and are now working and living a good lifestyle but still, thousands of people are still suffering in the refugee camps. In my upcoming blogs, I will be talking on such issues and I will expose many established personalities and their hypocrisy. If you like my content do support me and subscribe to my blog.
